...call for electoral reform for a better nigeria

The office of Honourable Adeyemi Adewunmi (Irekàndù) representing Obokun/Ori-Ade Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly played host to the leadership of Urban Alert Initiative, where the lawmaker lauded the activities of Urban Alert and asked the initiative to do more in her quest to help develop the country from the grassroots.

In his words, Honourable Adeyemi confirmed that he has been able to sponsor five people-oriented bills in the 7th assembly in Osun and he is ready to sponsor more bills that will address insecurity and thuggery in the state.

Urban Alert team led by Anthony Adejuwon affimed that the purpose of the meeting was to intimate the lawmaker of the activities of the initiative as well as bring to his attention the need for him to know some areas where the people of his constituency are suffering and how he can help tackle them to bring succor to the suffering masses.

Adejuwon said, “we have received several complaints from suffering masses in Obokun and Oriade Local Governments on the deplorable state of roads, so we are here to let you know that your people are counting on you”. The Osogbo – Ibokun – Imesi Ile road and Ada – Ibokun -Idominasi road which are major roads in your constituency are in a deplorable state, Adejuwon reiterated.

In his response, Honourable Adewumi emphasized that he is aware of the state of the roads in his constituency and he is already in talks with relevant agencies to fast track the repair of those roads. He further stated that he is ever ready to give a listening hear to any initiative like that of Urban Alert and he is ready to partner with any program that will put smile on the faces of the people that gave him the mandate to represent them in the Osun State House of Assembly.

Honourable Irekàndù called for electoral reform in the country as well as the autonomy of local government for the country to get better. He also expressed the need for everyone to get involved for the country to move forward.
